FlyOne Pet Policy: How to transport a pet in 2026

Published in 2025 / Updated in 2026

FlyOne is perfect for the “pocket-sized” traveler. Because they do not transport animals in the cargo hold, your pet is guaranteed to stay by your side throughout the flight.

1. Who’s on the Guest List?

FlyOne keeps it classic. The cabin is open to cats and dogs only.

  • The “One-and-Only” Rule: Only one pet per passenger is allowed.
  • The Quota: Flights are usually limited to just 2 pets total on board. This means you need to book your pet’s spot the second you decide to travel!
  • The Age Check: Your pet must be at least 7 months old and fully vaccinated to join the jet set.

2. The Cost of the “Paws-port”

Whether you’re flying to Chisinau or London, the price for your pet’s ticket is a flat fee.

  • Cost: €70 EUR per flight segment.
  • Note: This fee is separate from your baggage allowance. Your pet is a “special guest,” not a suitcase!

3. The Paperwork Checklist

FlyOne requires a full “background check” for every furry passenger. Before you head to the gate, make sure you have:

  1. EU Pet Passport: The gold standard for travel.
  2. Microchip: An electronic transponder or a clearly legible tattoo (if done before July 2011).
  3. Vaccination Record: Must show a valid Rabies shot.
  4. Health Certificate: A fresh “fit to fly” certificate from your vet.
  5. Import/Export Permits: Crucial for international travel, especially if leaving or entering non-EU zones.
  6. The Declaration: You will be asked to sign a special declaration at the counter, taking full responsibility for your travel buddy.

4. The “Apartment” (Carrier) Specs

Since your pet is staying in the cabin, their carrier needs to be their “home away from home.”

  • Weight Limit: Your pet + the carrier + food must not exceed 8 kg (17.6 lbs).
  • Dimensions: The sum of all sides must not exceed 115 cm (specifically 50 x 40 x 25 cm).
  • The Comfort Rule: Your pet must be able to sit naturally, turn around, and lie down. If they’re cramped, FlyOne may refuse boarding—nobody likes a grumpy flyer!
  • Material: The floor must be absorbent and the container must be well-ventilated and sturdy (no cardboard boxes for kitties, please!).

🛑 Important Restrictions

  • Cargo Policy: There is no cargo or luggage compartment transport for pets on FlyOne. If your dog is a Great Dane, you’ll need a different airline!
  • No-Go Destinations: Due to local laws, FlyOne cannot transport pets to/from Great Britain, Ireland, Portugal, or Dubai.
  • Pregnant Pets: For safety reasons, “moms-to-be” are not allowed to fly.

💡 Expert Tips for a Smooth Flight

The “Treat” Strategy: Don’t feed your pet a heavy meal right before the flight. A light snack 4 hours prior and plenty of water is the way to go!

Call First: Before you even click “Buy” on that human ticket, call FlyOne or use their chat to ensure a pet slot is still open for your flight.

Check-In Early: You cannot use a self-service kiosk with a pet. Arrive at the counter at least 2 hours early to have your paperwork and carrier verified.
