Hi, I’m Lana — and this site grew out of my own suitcase.
I share my life with a Pomeranian and a cat, and from time to time the three of us travel together. If you’ve ever done it, you know the truth nobody warns you about: the hardest part isn’t the paperwork. It’s the worry. The night before a flight, watching your dog pant in a carrier he’s not sure about, wondering whether your cat will be okay in the hold, second-guessing every rule you read on three different websites — that quiet anxiety is real, and it belongs to both ends of the leash.
I’m a psychologist by profession, and I spend my working life studying how stress and anxiety actually work — in people, and in the nervous systems we share with our animals. So when I started traveling with my own pets, two things bothered me. First, the practical information was scattered, contradictory, and often out of date. Second, almost no one was talking about the emotional side — how to keep a frightened animal (and a frightened owner) calm through a journey that breaks every routine they know.
I built PetsTravel.info to fix both. On the practical side, I gather airline and country rules from official sources and check them carefully, so you’re not piecing the picture together from a dozen forums. On the human side, I write about what I actually understand — how anxiety builds, why your pet picks up on yours, and what genuinely helps calm a nervous traveler with four legs. Everything here is tested on my own road: the photos on this page are my own animals, on our own trips.
